Founded in 1986 by Mario Donolato, the organic farm now known as Al Frassino was for years one of the points of reference within the El Tamiso cooperative, of which Mario was both a collaborator and a member. Located in Campolongo Maggiore (Venice), along the banks of the Brenta river, the company experienced a generational transition in 2023: management is now in the hands of their children, Francesca and Pierpaolo, who have transformed it into an agricultural company keeping the
original values intact. The production focuses on organic cereals and vegetables, in particular tomatoes, salads, zucchini and spinach, intended both for the El Tamiso cooperative and for the kitchen of the family farm.
Infact, Al Frassino is also a farmhouse, lodging and educational farm. Thanks to the presence of numerous animals — chickens, cows, sheep, donkeys — educational activities are organized for adults and children, making the company a place of discovery
and connection with nature.Francesca is in charge of the farm and the organization of events, while Pierpaolo is the heart of the agricultural activity. Both follow in the footsteps of their parents, deeply believing in a sustainable agricultural model, based on respect for the land and the high quality
of food.As Pierpaolo states:
“I am often asked if being a farmer is tiring, my answer always remains the same: if there is passion, fatigue does not exist. The satisfaction of seeing the plants, which you put on the ground, slowly grow and the awareness of doing a good job satisfy you for every effort made.
”Organic farming is not only a productive choice but a commitment for the future: leaving fertile and clean land to their children and grandchildren, just as it was left to them by their parents.
The company is constantly evolving: in recent years it has invested in the construction of a new stable and several greenhouses, a sign of continuous growth and a vision aimed at tomorrow.
