In the heart of the countryside of Santa Maria di Sala, in the province of Venice, Andrea Giubilato grows organic vegetables following principles of respect for the soil, biodiversity and natural rhythms. The territory in which it operates is characterized by an ancient hydraulic and agrarian arrangement of Roman origin, still recognizable today in the secluded fields, hedges and ditches that draw the rural
landscape. The company is located in Caltana, where until 2025 Andrea managed two farms together with Valentino Mattiuzzo, for a total area of about seven and a half hectares cultivated organically since 1989. All the land has always been managed for rent, a choice that has not prevented the two farmers from investing in environmental quality and fertility.
Over the years Andrea and Valentino have planted numerous plants that today constitute a rich and lush natural environment. Next to the cultivated fields there is a small pond, a grove and a dense network of hedges that offer refuge to birds, insects and small animals, creating an ecosystem in balance and in harmony
with nature. The production is mainly dedicated to vegetables for direct sale, with an extraordinary variety of species and cultivars that follow the rhythm of the seasons. Many seeds are self-produced on the farm, preserving biodiversity and adaptation to local conditions. Great attention is also paid to green manures and to the presence of plants left in bloom, essential for supporting populations of pollinating insects
and other useful organisms.Soil tillage is reduced and non-invasive, with the aim of preserving the structure of the soil, its natural fertility and the richness of the microbial life that inhabits it. This approach makes it possible to obtain healthy, tasty and high quality products, an authentic expression of the territory and of the agricultural work carried out
with care. After the retirement of Valentino Mattiuzzo, Andrea continues his journey carrying on a vision of agriculture based on knowledge, observation and respect for natural balance. In addition to his agricultural activity, he is in fact a teacher at the Itinerant School of Organic Agriculture, contributing to the training of new generations of farmers and the dissemination of agroecological practices.
