The relatively dry spring allowed us to proceed quickly with the sowings and transplants of vegetable crops and with the expected green manures. The soil, however cold (the time necessary to warm up the soil to promote a rapid growth of roots and aerial part is directly proportional to the amount of air that circulates there in the first 20 cm of soil) compared to surface air temperatures slows down the growth of plants, which, however, appear generally earlier than historical averages.
Already sold out the first onions in the greenhouse (Tognon), the open field onions (Bozza Simone, Damo) arrived immediately, together with the lettuce (the sunflower) the first caps (The Sunflower) will soon arrive. The asparagus season is well under way (Tognon, Podere Clara), and soon the first strawberries (Podere Clara, Borgato) and the first peas (Bozza Simone, Gaia, Cà Solare) will arrive.
In short, the summer is finally here and good fresh salads to everyone!
