Almost a year ago we suspended the sale of some products such as ginger, turmeric, Goji berries, chia seeds and quinoa, etc. with ethical and cultural reasons, which we have already announced (
go to the article).
In recent months we have explored the issues and dynamics related to this international trade in organic products, often fair and supportive, in terms of guarantees and direct relationships.
We contacted large and small importers, well-known “brand” and guarantee consortia, technicians and experts.
The result is an extremely complex landscape, in which the real risk is that the mere fact that they are organic productions, however certified, guarantees little or nothing about their ethical, social and economic sustainability.
We have thus chosen to operate, in collaboration with subjects able to transmit live information to us, and to grow with us on models of “sustainable trade”.
This is the case of Dr. Nicola Manno, an ethnobiologist and agro-ecologist from Padua, with a long experience in Peru, and of FRESH2EAT SRL, a new import company, based in Parma.
