In Este the migrants' garden!

With the new agrarian year that has just begun, the El Tamiso Agricultural Cooperative supports the project of the Life Path Social Cooperative, for the creation and care of an organic garden in Este, at the migrant reception center, established at the former seminary of the Josephine Fathers.
The place is among the most beautiful and suggestive in the historic center of the city of Este.
The garden will in part be used for self-consumption, but above all to occupy, train and promote the integration into the territory of the fifty guests of the structure.
The goal is to create a bridge between the local population and guests through the sharing of the knowledge and flavors of our territory and the exchange of the products of the land and the season.
The work already started in November with the first planting of peas; the initiative was successful among the young guests of the structure, some of them in their countries of origin were farmers and the rapprochement with the land excites them.


During the winter months when there is little work in the fields, Luca Masiero, collaborator of the El Tamiso Cooperative, will introduce guests to the principles of agriculture and organic horticulture that will be put into practice in the garden next spring, not disdaining some open gastronomic evenings, to discover flavors and local culture.
We are sure that this is the right way to deal calmly and peacefully, through food, with relationships between different peoples and cultures, never before so current.
