The name “El Tamiso” for Paduan citizens is now synonymous with organic.
As a Cooperative of local farmers, only organic, since 1984 it has been dedicated to direct relations with the public, which has always been oriented towards models of conscious and responsible consumption towards the environment and health.
Many remember the original stores in Via Monte Cengio and then Via Beato Pellegrino, as many know and frequent the “counter” in Piazza delle Erbe.
In the meantime, the Cooperative has grown: it manages its activities in a large retail and wholesale headquarters at the MAAP - Padua Agri-Food Market and has more than a few stores and street vendors between Padua and Venice.
Even the organic product is changing places and characteristics: increasingly imported, with “zero waste”, but less and less able to guarantee that it corresponds to a social, environmental, landscape and economic evolution of agriculture. A product that is increasingly present in large retailers, on more “conventional” models in terms of relationships in the agro-food chain.
This is why El Tamiso decided to go back to its origins, investing in a new Sotto il Salone store. A prestigious place full of suggestions, ancient and modern, in the direct relationship between the 'countryside' and the 'city'.
A place whose history and philosophy, conceived almost 900 years ago, are well combined with the ideas and objectives of the El Tamiso Cooperative.
There you can find a wide range of strictly organic and vegetarian products, including seasonal vegetables, cereals, legumes, flours, wines, cheeses, and much more, from our best local and national member companies and cooperatives.
The inauguration is scheduled for Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 11 am, with the presence of the City Authorities.
Citizens are all invited.
