Following the weather trend of the season, let's give an account of the current state of the various crops, in the hope that the weather will settle down:
- Cipollotti: soon the first of the greenhouse (a small quantity that was only supposed to be a first) then the field plan (late)
- Asparagus: the first ones soon (we are 20/25 days late) from tunnellino while those outside the tunnel have yet to appear
- Chard and chicory: only someone has managed to plant, we will have a few ribs/chicory in May, many in June-July
- Heart/round cap: if we manage to plant within 10/20 days we will be able to have something by mid-June, while all of May will be missing, with a cumulation in June/July...
- Carrot (even if not significant) sows late, most of the sowings are postponed for autumn harvest.
- Peas: very few are sown in autumn or in recent periods, however, a reduction is expected because it is unlikely to exceed April 15 for planting.
- Green bean: the sowings are slightly late so the situation should not be too serious
- Bean: the first sowings are slightly late so the situation should not be too serious
- Lettuce: some transplants have been done, so the first will arrive in early/mid-May 2 weeks late than expected
- Potatoes: many not yet sown, so our first ones will be late. We will certainly have a decrease in total volumes.
- Leeks: the very first will be ready late in July instead of June...
- Spring roots: late, a small production is expected anyway.
- Zucchini: late, despite the fact that the first ones were under the greenhouse...
Consequences in the short term: we will certainly have few contributions until mid-May. Surely there will be an accumulation of products delivered from June onwards (a period in which sales volumes have a significant drop in volume). We therefore expect to have to be patient when delivering the products. And most likely we will be forced to leave part of our productions in the field due to the concentration of deliveries by the members of the cooperative, something that is difficult to solve since even the conventional agricultural sector certainly has the same problems as the organic one.
