Originally from the temperate zones of Central America, after being imported into Europe, it has had the opportunity to differentiate and cross into myriads of varieties, present in our territory since the end of summer.
This specific type of pumpkin, the Priest's Hat, is a novelty of our cooperative, introduced in collaboration with Arcoiris and has a peculiar turban shape. It has a lighter pulp than other pumpkins, firm and low in fiber: this makes it excellent as a filling for tortelli and in the preparation of gnocchi or in the oven.
The Cappello da Prete pumpkin cultivated in Franco Zecchinato's company Il Biancospino in Padua, is a plant that is not artificially hybridized, part of a supply chain of self-produced seeds that affects local realities, enhances ancient varieties and promotes biodiversity.
