In Pernumia, an area that has always been dedicated to fruit production, we find the farm run by Maurizio Fortin.
Coming from a family with a rural tradition, Maurizio comes from past experiences in production with the “zero residue” method.
For twelve years he has been taking the path of organic agriculture, demonstrating that he knows how to open himself to new perspectives and finding in El Tamiso a reliable interlocutor where he can confer continuously, thus creating the conditions for joining the same Cooperative of which he became a member. At the head of a company with good mechanization, Maurizio has always been a producer of excellent quality fruit: golden apples, gala apples, emperor apples and nectarine peaches. A part of the crops is reserved for cereals such as wheat, corn, barley, pea protein and sorghum.
The latter is part of a large project of the cereal cooperative that involves experimenting with new crops that are more rustic and less demanding from a nutritional point of view and therefore more suitable to withstand periods of drought that are now frequent even in our latitudes.
