The transition between spring and summer is marked by atmospheric phenomena that are far from normal. Frequent thundershowers accompanied in some areas by some intense hailstorms have occurred in different locations, while in others the drought is putting a strain on plant resistance. The persistent morning phenomenon of high humidity, which favors the proliferation of fungal and bacterial diseases, also contrasts with drought.
However, the crops are well under way and there are many new products that arrive during this period, such as zucchini (sunflower, Bozza S.), cucumbers (Tognon, Gaia), eggplants (Gaia, Tognon), green beans (Cà Girotto, Bozza S., Pajaro), lettuce (Il Girasole).
Soon the harvest of primatic potatoes (Tognon, Damo) and fresh onions (Damo, Il Biancospino) will begin.
In the meantime, planting is being carried out for autumn and winter plants, to be transplanted in the period between the end of July and the end of August, in addition to the scheduling of the plants for direct sowing in the coming months (beans, green beans, spinach) that will give continuity to the crops that involve harvesting in a scalar period.
