The beautiful and wide setting of Prato della Valle will host the market festival “Organic El in Piassa”, for the occasion renamed “Organic El Prà”, an event dedicated to organic in all its forms. Sunday, May 10, from 9 to 7.30 pm, one of the largest squares in Europe will host for the third consecutive year the spring edition of this event, which for almost thirty years has attracted enthusiasts, curious people, families and people from Padua and its surroundings. The recipe for this edition is based on an intertwining of past, present and future: starting with the animals in the square, the Paduan hen (Slow Food Presidium) and the donkeys (Ass. Alma Terra), the exhibition of vintage agricultural tools as in the old market, goes through the numerous meetings on current issues concerning the environment, health and agriculture, the offer of organic plants for the family garden, to reach spaces for young people and children with the classic and inevitable traditional wooden games and sports proposals for inline skating (Ass. ORS) and athletic activities offered by ASD Libertas.
Over seventy banquets of food products, crafts, cosmetics, textiles, games and agricultural products, will also be accompanied by the presence of non-profit associations and a food stand organized by the “Osteria di Fuori Porta”, with some strictly organic sweet and savory specialties, always with an eye for those who have intolerances or prefer to avoid animal foods, dairy products and gluten. There will also be cultural events, with a visit to the statues of Prato della Valle (at 10 and 4.30 p.m.) under the guidance of Professor Adriano Smonker, and the conferences of Doctors for the Environment, on TTIP with Silvia Benedetti (member of the agriculture committee of the Chamber of Deputies), on green building and straw houses (organized by Azienda Agricola "Al Confin"), on celiac disease and finally the assembly of Aiab Veneto (Italian Association of Organic Agriculture) and the horticulture courses by Luca Masiero agronomist technician from El Tamiso and co-author of the highly clicked videos “Organic Garden on Line”.
Organic El Piassa wants to bring the countryside into the city and be a moment of encounter with the producers and products of the earth, a cultural event for the discovery of traditions and territory, a sharing of knowledge and conscience, in the spirit of service that has always distinguished the association, and of opportunities to get closer and enter a world that is also a lifestyle, an important choice for man and his relationship with the environment and biodiversity.
