The subdivision of Via Germania: another slap in the face of Camin's town.
In the session of the Municipal Planning Commission of the Municipality of Padua on 18/4, the Padua Industrial Zone Consortium proposed the allotment of the area between VIA GERMANIA and VIA GRAMOGNE, LINKED TO EQUIPPED GREEN (the current destination of the area was confirmed in the Land Planning Plan approved by the City Council on April 7, 2009), an area of about 6 hectares COMPLETELY GREEN that appeals to the “INTERESTS OF CEMENT”. According to news reports, this is an industrial use of old areas of the ZIP, but this is not the case:
This area north of Padovaland, is not an 'old' area, but an 'ancient' area, it is in fact a fine example of the Venetian countryside, the last to survive the advance of warehouses in this part of the city. It is by no means an abandoned area, as mentioned in the commission, but it is well cultivated by the few residents, with the presence of centuries-old trees, ditches, hedges, manicured gardens, which with the Padovaland complex constitutes a unique green lung a stone's throw from the center. The proposal to 'detach' an area of this type, and with the equalization to deposit it near the Padua- Bologna tollbooth makes no sense, since the area near the tollbooth is (among other things) under the high-voltage pylons, and therefore absolutely unusable as an 'equipped green'. It doesn't make sense even according to the reasons given by the proposers, because in exchange for the net loss of about 6 hectares of greenery, chasing the mirage of some jobs, Camin will find himself with yet another row of empty warehouses, while a short distance away the flowers of industrial warehouses are sold off (to find them, just take a walk on the Internet). Another slap in the face of our country, which has paid a heavy price to the development of the city, pursuing progress that does not respect its origins, and its people. If it is true, as was said during the session of the commission, that at the time the industrial zone was designed by far-sighted politicians, (but this is not the common opinion in Camin's country, we can assure you) it is up to the political class to now rethink and implement new models of development, which do not involve the waste and consumption of the few resources we have, first of all fertile soil, and find a way to make the needs of those who live and work the land coincide, of citizens who, thanks to this tireless work, can still enjoy a rare and precious landscape, and the demands of industrial development, which certainly no longer needs the large urbanized spaces required in the 60s. It's a pity that while on the one hand the Administration with one hand is preparing to promote the “Supra-Municipal Agricultural Park” with the other hand it unloads cement and asphalt trucks into one of the few remaining green areas.
The Commission mentioned a possible 'compensation' in favor of the inhabitants of Camin.
It's true, Camin needs compensation, but this is 'a priori'.
After so many years of environmental and social devastation, neglect and sadness, Camin needs only one thing: to be left alone.
