Finally summer has arrived and with it all the colorful fruits and vegetables that cheer up our dishes and our fresh summer dishes! After long months of waiting, our producers reap the fruit of the long and repeated work for the cultivation of the various plants.
So here are Guizzardi's watermelons and melons, Tognon's cucumbers, Simone Bozza's spring onions, Moretto's lettuce and zucchini, our potatoes are on their way.
Everything arrived late, everything started late, everyone is chasing the season.
For long periods, in fact, the plants have suffered severe stress due to what is technically called “radical asphyxiation”, a situation in which, due to heavy and prolonged rains, the soil has become excessively soaked in water and compacted, not allowing oxygen and other atmospheric gases and gases produced in the subsoil to find space for recirculation. In this situation, the plants have been in a real apnea and have therefore severely limited their vital activities, when they have not even died.
This explains why there were few peas, few asparagus, few lettuces, few zucchini produced in spring, let's hope this new start will help us!
Especially because we think of those companies that in this period ask us to become part of the cooperative, companies of young children, full of vitality and determined to produce food as we have always understood it. Good for those who eat it, good for those who live it.
