Biotour 2019 - between land and water, in Chioggia - photo and story!

A delightful sea breeze accompanied us to the second stop of Biotour 2019, the Terra Viva Social Cooperative in Valli di Chioggia.

A young and dynamic farm, the friends of Chioggia have recently become members of the co-op El Tamiso, recognizing in this the same founding values of their initiative: protection of the territory through the practice of organic agriculture, to which is added the theme of the social inclusion of disadvantaged people, including prisoners embarked on a path of recovery through agricultural work. Andrea Bonaldo, recently elected to the board of directors of El Tamiso, made the guests experience first-hand the consequences of recent weather phenomena on agriculture: summer sowings have been delayed due to the continuous rains of recent times and therefore the fields, to the joy of bees, are an explosion of biodiversity of flowers, including those of leeks that precisely the excess of water has not allowed them to be collected.

But self-pity is not the trait of these friendly farmers, ready to face difficulties with a smile on their face and with the determination of those who know that the direction they are taking is the right one!

After the excellent barbecue of fish and vegetables, an excursion to the lagoon aboard the Bragozzo Ulisse closed this wonderful day.

The next appointment of Biotour 2019, to discover quality organic food, will be Sunday, September 22 with the trip “Better an egg today and a chicken tomorrow”!
