Two collaborations with Goel Bio and the A Lanterna Farmhouse are described below, which have always been committed to the fight against the mafias, for a legal agricultural work ethic.
GOEL BIO
Goel Bio, an agricultural social cooperative company active in Calabria, was founded and operates as an active means of change, through the enhancement of typicality, active commitment to legality, respect for the environment and defense of the dignity of agricultural work. All without ever neglecting the search for high quality. Goel Bio combines the organic cultivation method, to take care of the environment and the consumer.
The enhancement and support of these choices produces and encourages a real and tangible increase not only in culture, but also in the legal economy.
Goel Bio is part of the GOEL Cooperative Group whose mission is the socio-economic change of Locride and Calabria through social enterprise as a tool to combat the 'Ndrangheta and deviated freemasonry, for democracy and the common good.
Since 2015, we have been offering their fresh products in a particular sector of the list. Prices are not related to other similar products, since GOEL's philosophy is to always recognize the cost of production to the farmer; an effort that we will have to make a little for all our purchases, if we care about the development of truly sustainable agriculture and above all that has a
future.
THE LANTERN
In 2015, the A Lanterna Farmhouse located in Monasterace Marina, in the province of Reggio Calabria, adjacent to the archaeological site that “preserves” the remains of ancient Kaulonia, suffered yet another mafia attack: the shed and the precious tractor burned down in an arson fire.
A Lanterna is a fascinating place rich in history and biodiversity, animated by people who have decided to free themselves from the law of the 'Ndrangheta to join a consortium of producers, the Goel Consortium, which is fighting in the territory to defend these small realities trying to offer, in addition to the value of legality, an economic project that can guarantee the right reward for their work.
For this reason, our cooperative decided to support this reality and, in 2015, decided to buy the clementines of the 'A Lanterna Company and to raise funds to contribute to their recovery.
