In Pieve di Cadore, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January, the friends of “El Ceston” (the historic Cadore buying group) have scheduled a series of meetings, screenings and testimonies on the consequences of the war in the Balkans, including the flight of the Bosnian population. In this work, carried out in particular by his friend Piermario Fop, many relationships have been discovered between the Venetian territory, and in particular Belluno, with many refugees coming from that Balkan area during the period of the former Yugoslav war. These two days mean on the one hand the importance of meetings and on the other the importance of memory and closeness with recent history, which must be a warning for the future. The program, very rich and diversified, will also touch on two projects for the development of the areas: “Sowing the return” — a project on buckwheat — in which the co-op El Tamiso is directly involved, and “Transhumance of Peace” with the reintegration of old cattle breeds.
