Cooperative Foundation
1
The “El Tamiso” Organic Agricultural Cooperative was founded in Padua. A group of producers and agricultural technicians, supported by people interested in organic agriculture, natural nutrition and alternative medicine, tried to build an economic reality based on mutuality and sustainability, very different from the dominant economic model. Direct sales immediately developed with the first store in Via Monte Cengio, counting on a social and cultural context that was already attentive and available.

After the 2014 stop marketing of foreign products with the sole requirement of organic certification, followed by a year of analysis and investigations in the sector, the cooperative resumes offering exotic products (such as ginger, turmeric, mango, quinoa... etc.) for which, in addition to certification and organoleptic qualities, it can guarantee the entire supply chain from different points of view: social, economic and ecological. In particular, the research focused on small businesses that, in addition to offering high quality standards, can have virtuous implications for the local economy.
